What personal data we collect and why we collect it


When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact forms

Any data you provide via Contact Forms will only ever be used by ourselves. If you sign up to the Newsletter this will only be for this service. This information is stored for Mail Chimp. If this is making an enquiry this will only be used to contact you regarding your enquiry. This information is stored in our email filing system and can be deleted at your request.


If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

We also have “Enabled Demographics and Interests Report” enabled via Google so we can see how different people use our site in different locations. If you wish to opt out of this when instructions are here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/.

We also Yandex.Metrica tracking to see how people are using the website. If you do not wish this to happen you can:

  1. Install a blocker that will stop the Yandex.Metrica tracking tag on all sites that you visit.
  2. Use the browser console when visiting pages that you don’t want to be tracked on.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.


If you become a client then any information you share with your therapist that is relevant to your condition will be stored on our purpose built app. It is password protected and is never shared with anyone. If you wish to see what information we have stored about you simply email us at info@SwindonSportsTherapy.co.uk. If you wish us to change any of the information at any time please just ask and we will do so immediately.

Information we collect

Identity data – Details about you, such as your DOB and address.

Contact data – Email address and contact number – we will use this data to contact you about your appointment and send you information specific to an appointment you have booked. If you opt in to receive our newsletter you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the link at the bottom of a newsletter email sent to you or by contacting us directly.

Medical data – Relevant to your treatment, including medical history, medications, allergies, adverse events, social history, family history and risk factors.

Who we share your data with

We do not share any of your data with anyone.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

For medical data we store this indefinitely as it may be relevant if you return to the clinic at a later date or we need to send you notes onto your GP or for insurance purposes. We are legally obligated to retain this information for 7 years.

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
